Why Tahrir²?

It all started before the revolution with a dream to build an incubator in Egypt. It was obvious that  we had a problem. VCs lying with their funds at one side very frustrated with the quality of entrepreneurs coming to them, while enthusiastic entrepreneurs lying on the other side frustrated from shy investors who do not want to risk and help.

It was obvious that if we wanted to move the flow a little bit, we need to fill the gap in between. We needed an accelerator thats picks entrepreneurs early enough to finance them, mentor them and offer them an environment where they will be motivated and where they will be given the opportunity to interact with other entrepreneurs. Then they will be packaged them and polished so that they would be attractive and good enough for VC rounds.

After 25 Jan, it became more and more clear that we are ready to start Tahrir². Our youth succeeded to break the barrier of fear and seize their own freedom. It is a metter of time and they will start in the second wave of the revolution which is to free their economy. They only need somebody to help them unlock their potentials and square their efforts. Taking the spirit of Tahrir Square and funnel it through building a Startup Nation.

This is why we started Tahrir² if you were wondering, and from where did the name come from. The story is on the beginning and I wish we could see many many success stories ceming out of Tahrir².

And that was our Hello world ..
